Productivity Mac Apps
Two apps are listed here, one from each guide. Anytype is for structured, encrypted notes. iA Writer is for focused markdown writing.
Open either app for a short description and a link to the developer's own site. Prices change, so the pricing label is the model, not a receipt.
What to look for
- Where the data lives — notes and transcripts are personal, so check for local storage or your own iCloud rather than someone else's server.
- Export — if you cannot get your text out as Markdown or plain files, changing your mind later gets expensive.
- Weight — an app you want running all day should be measured in tens of megabytes, not hundreds.
- Subscription or one-time — this category has plenty of both, and the one-time options are often the better deal over a few years.
